Welcome Back Pearl Readers!

Another year is upon us and I am so happy to be welcoming you back as your Editor-in-Chief for the second year. As a senior, I hope to continue highlighting the amazing articles that our writers write based upon their interests. I am very passionate about journalism myself and plan on majoring in broadcast journalism or film in college. As well as being a part of the Pirates’ Pearl team, I play both varsity tennis and softball, am involved in multiple clubs, and have a leadership role as a D11 Sports Intern.
This year we’ll further the progress made last year with incorporating multimedia as well as continue our partnership with Stand Up to Silence Club. Journalism can play large roles in so many lives and we are thrilled to bring school and world news to our community. With the COVID-19 crisis still ongoing, we will continue to stay safe and keep both our writers and readers connected through our news publication.
Our focus this year is to stick with mainly digital journalism, with our website, Instagram (@phspiratespearl), and the Pearl Podcast. My goals this year are to have writers expand their horizons with telling the stories that need to be told and bring awareness to those who need it the most.
In addition to our social media accounts, watch for our monthly newsletter! Join me for this year’s adventure!
