"Alive!" is quite right! Organized by the main street program Autumn Alive! is a fall-themed festival with plenty of activities for all! Celebrating Quakertown Alive!’s 20th year, there was no holding back from making this year’s Autumn Alive!. Located on Broad Street, 4th Street, Hellertown Avenue, and Branch Street, this event is great for bringing in the new fall season and supporting local businesses. Autumn Alive! had food, vendors, crafts, organizations, and performances for the whole family to enjoy from 10:00- 4:00 pm on October 19th.
Quakertown Alive! is a non-profit organization with the mission to make Quakertown a greater community. This fall festival is important for bringing the community together and raising money for projects in the area. Many of the proceeds and donations go toward helping Quakertown High School with projects and programs as well as other valuable organizations. Supporting and attending events such as Autumn Alive! is important for improving Quakertown and other Bucks County communities.
One main aspect of Autumn Alive! is its focus on animals. Pet owners were encouraged to bring their animals along with them and dress them up in Halloween costumes! Many vendors at the event included an animal theme such as dog collars, treats, and even a stand where you could get a portrait of your animal drawn. There were many animal organizations to bring in the animal-lover crowd, including the Bucks County SPCA and the Quakertown Vet Clinic. Another favorite section is the llama petting area. Anyone was allowed to feed, pet, or buy llama fur products.
Autumn Alive! is a great occasion to sell your own products as well as purchase many different items you can only find at an event like this! Many local businesses rely on events like Autumn Alive! to spread the word about their company and help with product sales. Some favorites are the tents related to the arts. I enjoyed seeing the hand-made jewelry, mosaic decorative tiles, textiles, and the places where kids can create their own sand art.
Autumn Alive! featured many food venders and performers for when people wanted to take a break from the action. There were food trucks such as "Big Poppa’s Backyard BBQ" and other food stands like "Local Harvest Pizza." Many seating areas were located right next to the stage so people could eat food while having entertainment. Performances by local artists, Miss Cindy’s School of Dance, and the Quakertown Band entertained crowds all
throughout the day.
Autumn Alive! is always a festival I enjoy attending every fall to get involved with my community. It brings families together for a day of activities and always has more in store each year!
