Bernie Sanders Apologizes for Sexism Claims in 2016 Campaign

Brynn Keyser, Freshman

In 2016, Bernie Sanders claimed that he had no knowledge of disrespect, pay disparities, or sexual harassment of women that changed his campaign.

Women staff have reported that they were forced into uncomfortable situations such as being asked to share rooms with male coworkers, and they claimed that their male coworkers made thousands more than them.

Bernie Sanders has recently apologized for his claims of sexism in his presidential campaign of 2016. In an interview with CNN on Wednesday night, Sanders was asked by Cooper if he was aware of the sexist accusations. Sanders replied with, “Uh, yes. I was a little bit busy running around the country, trying to make the case,” and smiled.

However, Sanders added afterward, “I certainly apologize to any woman who felt that she was not treated appropriately, and of course, if I run, we will do better next time.”
