Can The Changing Leaves Help Change Your Mindset?

According to a study from OnePolls, over half of the United States population is the happiest during the season of Autumn. Things like changing leaves or a sweet cup of apple cider make many people the happiest they will be all year. Also, a new season is a great time to reevaluate your life and shape yourself into the person you want to be. Take advantage of everything Autumn has to offer and become the person you have always wanted to be!


It is a proven fact that when the weather gets colder people become more productive. A study conducted by Harvard Business School showed that the decrease in warm weather makes people more productive since the cold weather makes distracting summer activities less appealing. Instead of going to the beach or taking a road trip, people are more interested in being productive. That being said, during any time of the year, developing new healthy habits and getting rid of those unhealthy ones is very challenging, however, it is possible.

One of the best places to start when trying to make the most of this new season is to set goals. These goals can be based on any sort of intention such as a goal to start eating healthier or getting better grades. This goal can help one stay on track and not lose sight of the whole reason they began. It is important that this goal is something that will be actually attainable, especially since forming new habits is very difficult and if a goal seems impossible, many will think that it would simply be easier to give up rather than to continue trying.


Once an attainable goal is set, it is time to actually start changing one's mindset. Without having the proper mindset, actually accomplishing any sort of goal will be very difficult. A few things to keep in mind while starting new adventures this Autumn are that mistakes will occur, as not everyday will be perfect. However, instead of letting bad days ruin the rest of the season, learn from them and instead think of how to not make the same mistake twice. Also, break down what is trying to be achieved into smaller more reasonable goals. A large goal can be very daunting however that does not mean it should dampen one's plans. Something else to keep in mind is that building new habits takes time and drastic changes won’t happen overnight. It can take months for new routines to really form.


One of the best ways to increase productivity and improve one's mindset is to just get inspired. However, finding ways to become inspired is more difficult than it sounds. One of the best ways to become inspired during the season of Autumn is to just get some sunshine. It is important to remember that with cold weather approaching, sunshine can be a great reminder that life is beautiful. Also, spending time on a hobby or sport that is enjoyable is another way to inspire oneself to change their mindset. No matter what method is chosen, it is important to understand that anything done will make a difference in sparking a passion for one to build on.


Remember to not let this Autumn go to waste and find joy in the pumpkin spice and cozy sweaters!
