Thinking about having a Halloween party, but don’t know what decorations to put up? You came to the right place to find some ideas! Halloween is almost here, and some people are unsure of what decorations to put up. Here are three DIY decorations that you can make yourself for your spectacular Halloween party.
Candy Corn Halloween Vases:
These vases would be an amazing decoration to put on your coffee table, dinner table, and or in the kitchen.
Here are the items you need
3 tall cylinder vases.
Black vinyl letters to put on the vases.
2 packs of Clear, Orange, and Yellow Water Beads.
36 gallons of water.
Measuring cup
3 glass bowls or plastic bins
Directions:
First step, grab your 3 bowls and or plastic bin, add water, and add each color of the water beads to the bowls. Then, let them soak 4-6 hours. Once they’re all soaked, strain them, take your measuring cup, and carefully scoop the yellow beads, then the orange beads, and lastly the clear beads into the vase.
Pumpkin Gumball Machine:
The Pumpkin Gumball Machine would be an amazing decoration because Halloween doesn’t always have to be “dark and scary.” It can be placed in your living room, on your front porch, or on coffee table. It’s creative, cute, vintage, and very simple to create.
Here are the materials you need
Craft Pumpkins
Gum Balls
Red planter with Saucer
Glue gun
Glue sticks
Black Marker
Knife
Aluminum Foil
Directions:
First, you have to cut the stem off the pumpkin with a knife (be careful when handling the knife), just enough so that “the saucer won’t be so wobbly.” Save the stem of the pumpkin because it will be used later. Second, take your glue gun, add glue around the rim of the saucer of the red planter, place the saucer on top of the pumpkin where the stem used to be, and press down on the saucer for a few minutes until it feels secure. Then put glue on the bottom of stem that you cut off the pumpkin to place it on top of the saucer, so it looks like the stem grew through the lid. Third, take the red planter and turn it upside down, so that you can put glue around the rim of it. Take your pumpkin, set it down on top of the base where the glue was placed, and press down for a few seconds until it feels secure. Fourth, take your gumballs, add glue to them, go around the pumpkin in a straight line, and see how much of the area you can cover up. Finally, make the coin slot and opening of the gumball machine. Tear a sheet of aluminum foil, and, using the black marker, draw a circle and write 25¢. in the middle. Then, draw an archway to make an opening for your gumballs to go in and go out, and add a couple dots of glue to the coin slot and opening, and place them on the red planter.
Do Not Eat it.
Glowing Light Pods:
These Glowing Light Pods are a fantastic way to light up the night when it is super dark outside. You can place these in a tree hang them up on your porch.
Here are the materials you need
30 to 40 small balloons
1 packet of basket coffee filters
14-oz. bottle of white glue
30 to 40 4-inch glow sticks
String
Bamboo Skewer
Scissors
Paint Brush
Directions:
First, inflate the balloons to about 4-6 inches wide and leave them off to the side. Second, prepare the paper-mache paste by mixing white glue and water (4 parts of glue and 1 of water) in a container until well combined and smooth. Then, cut coffee filters in quarters. Fourth, cover the balloons by brushing a thin layer of paper-mache paste on both sides of filter and attaching it to the balloon. After that, cover each balloon with 4 layers of coffee filters. Then,, tie the balloons with the string, space them at least 5 inches apart from each other, and let them hang to dry overnight. Finally, once the paper mache is completely dry, cut off the tops where the balloons are knotted, which should pop the balloon. Poke the skewer through the neck of pod near the opening, so you have two holes on each side. Thread the string through the holes and tie a knot. Hang the pods from a porch or a tree and vary the heights of the pods in clusters. Crack and shake glow sticks and slip them in each pod.
