This morning at 6:32am in San Juan, Puerto Rico there was an earthquake “...south of the island at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles), according to the U.S. Geological Service. There was no tsunami threat, officials said” (@cbsnews). Then, another earthquake “measured at a magnitude 5.1” hit again at 10:51am. It shook power lines and scared many residents in the southern part of Puerto Rico who were outside of their homes because they feared that their homes were going to be “unstable.” “One of the largest and most damaging earthquakes to hit Puerto Rico occurred in October 1918, when a 7.3-magnitude quake struck near the island's northwest coast, unleashing a tsunami and killing 116 people” (@cbsnews). Hopefully, everyone from Puerto Rico is okay and everyone will be able to go back into their homes in peace.
