New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are two of the biggest party days of the year. People all over the world are celebrating a new year and new beginnings. However, picking out an outfit to wear is one of the biggest struggles. So, here are some tips and ideas for what to wear to a NYE or NYD party!

The common article of clothing for NYE is a dress or a skirt. Usually, these dresses and skirts are pretty short, so if you’re comfortable with showing that much skin then go for it! But, if you’re not comfortable, then you can wear a dress or skirt the length of your choice. Dresses and skirts are ideal for parties and celebrations that are going to be held inside. If you know you are going to be outside in the cold, then it is recommended that you wear a coat and long pants, maybe jeans. You can spice up a coat and long pants with bold shoes or a bold hat!

When looking for a dress to wear, look for interesting dresses that will catch people’s attention. Some dresses to try out are sequin dresses. Also,try  dresses with a shoulder cut out. You could also look for sequence skirts and wear a plan shirt on top. It is also recommended to wear shiny and eye catching jewelry. This is a tip to spice up your outfit a little bit more if you don’t feel comfortable with a skirt or dress. 

Carrying accessories is also another thing to add to your look. Bring a glittery and sparkly purse or clutch bag to any party or celebration to really be in the spirit!

If your dress or clothing is in solid colors, a cool idea is to paint your nails a nice sparkle to add some fun to your look.

Makeup is another very important part of the NYE and NYD look. With bold makeup you can really bring your outfit to a complete look. Winged eyeliner is very popular around NYE as well as shimmery eyeshadow. Basically anything shimmery or glittery will help you with your look! Smokey eyes are very popular as well! It is also recommended to wear a red lipstick to really make your makeup look pop.

So, to sum it all up, for NYE and NYD you will need; a dress or skirt and top, jewelry, clutch purse, cosmetics, and heels or flats. With all of these helpful tips and ideas of what to wear, you will be the best dressed at any NYE or NYD party!
