Opinion: A Student’s Thoughts on Covid-19

Natalie Powell, Sophomore

What is Covid? Where did it come from? Have you ever had Covid?

Now, to answer my question—I had the Coronavirus twice. My experiences with Covid were horrible; I was in the hospital for two weeks, unable to breathe. It was very rough for me.

The Coronavirus is an illness caused by a virus, and it is extremely deadly. Knowing the symptoms of Covid-19 can be helpful, especially when you think you may have come in contact with someone who has Covid-19 or feel ill. Some symptoms include: fever and chills, coughing, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, nausea, and vomiting.

There have been 1.41 million Covid-19 cases, and 29,141 deaths. Covid-19 has affected everyone, and almost 110,000 restaurants have closed. Also, about 12,000 clothing stores have closed, and a bunch of people have been dying everyday. Doctors in the U.S. are trying very hard to get rid of the virus with the vaccine, but people have been getting Covid even with the vaccine. When President Joe Biden announced that people who are vaccinated can start taking their mask off, a lot of people took advantage of what he said, and people are not wearing masks even when they don’t have the vaccine. It had gotten so bad that Biden had said it is now a demand to wear a mask. He also said if people would have listened then we probably would have got rid of the virus by now.

The Corona Virus has been created in Wuhan China. A team of epidemiologists were researching public health, and animal health. The scientist heard of the virus going on but they didn’t try to keep themselves protected. They were going to research the animal meat they had, they didn’t know that people went into that store that were diagnosed with Covid. China has been all cleared for not having Covid. President Biden tried to talk to them and ask how they got rid of it but didn’t help them, because they said they were going to be blamed for it happening in the USA.

Did you have Covid-19? I had Covid-19 I have to say it made me sicker than I have ever been. December 27th 2019 was when I got really sick. I just thought it was the flu but 10 times worse. I started to get shaky when I wasn’t cold, I had really bad shortness of breath, I could not drink or eat because every time I would take a sip of water I would throw it up, and of course with food as well. I had very bad cold sweats and I remember how sour my body was. My parents took me to the hospital and I remember one of the doctors saying that there was a small virus going on. The same exact thing happened to me April 27, 2021. Be sure to wear your mask and get vaccinated!
