One of the best ways to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in Bucks County is to visit Peddler’s Village and take in the many festive activities that it has to offer (and the best part is, admission is free!). All season long, visitors can stroll through the village and take in the sights of over one million illuminated holiday lights with a cup of fresh, piping hot cider in hand. Located conveniently between New Hope and Doylestown, the beautiful decorations and unrivaled charm truly put one in the holiday spirit.
The annual Gingerbread House Competition and Display runs in the gazebo on top of the hill until January 1st. While you may have to brave the often long line to view over fifty gingerbread houses, it is always intriguing to see the crafting creativity and judge them for yourself.
After taking in the display of lights, duck into some of the many shops to accomplish some holiday shopping. The outdoor mall is sprinkled with many unique boutiques that feature crafty gifts perfect for those of all ages and lifestyles. Shops such as 25 South, Country Accents, Left Bank, and Village Outfitters offer a multitude of unique gifts and apparel to choose from. Other well-known chains such as Ten Thousand Villages and Chicos are also options for village-goers, who can stop in for a caffeine pick-me-up and delicious baked goods at Saxbys Coffee while shopping. Holiday shopping can sometimes be an overwhelming task, but while walking around Peddler’s Village one is destined to find a perfect present for everyone on their nice list!
When you tire of shopping and are looking for a bite to eat, look no further than the abundance of fantastic restaurants offered in the Village. No matter the season, whether you are looking for an upscale night out or a relaxed and casual dining experience, there are many options to choose from. Delicious, cozy, and hearty cuisine is offered at Cock’n Bull
and Earl’s New American. Buttonwood Grill claims to offer the “Best Burger in Bucks” and Hart’s Tavern features casual comfort food as well. New eateries Moku Bowls and Surf and Turf Kitchen offer diverse, healthy options for those who are looking for a quicker meal. To top your night out off with some mouth-watering desserts, visit Nina’s Waffles and Ice Cream or The Lucky Cupcake Bakery.
While Peddler’s Village is a great experience for shopping and dining activities any time of year, it quite literally shines during the holidays and can be a great place to capture photos and memories with friends and family this season. Santa Claus will be present every Saturday and Sunday until December 23rd. With one week left before Christmas, get in some last-minute holiday shopping and family fun at Peddler’s Village!
