On Sunday, December 30, 2018, 7-year old Jazmine Barnes was killed by an unprovoked gunman in Houston, Texas.
According to 6abc news, investigators have surveillance footage of a red, four-door pickup truck which is suspected to be the unknown gunman’s vehicle. Jazmine, her mother, and her three sisters were in their vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Authorities say Jazmine Barnes and her family were leaving a Walmart parking lot and a red pickup truck pulled up beside them. LaPorsha Washington, the mother, said that the shooting occurred on a nearby service road while heading to a store, but nothing is confirmed. The gunman began shooting into the Barnes family’s car and killed Jazmine Barnes. The mother was also shot in the arm and one of Jazmine’s sisters was injured by broken glass. The shooter knew the family in no way and was unprovoked. Washington said, “He intentionally killed my child for no reason. He didn’t even know her, he didn’t know who she was.”
The shooter has been described as a white, bearded male in his 40’s wearing a red hoodie. If you know any information, please contact the authorities at 713-274-9100 or @CrimeStopHOU at 713-222-TIPS.
