St. Patrick’s Day was first celebrated in 1903 over in Ireland. The holiday was created by a man named Saint Patrick. He was originally from Britannia until he was kidnapped at 15 and taken to Ireland. Saint Patrick eventually left Ireland after his kidnapping but returned and brought the religion of Christianity with him. Since then, the Irish and millions of people in the world celebrate the fun holiday each year. Some of the activities that are included with this holiday are parades, and the eating of cabbage and corned beef. A lot of drinking happens across the world on this holiday too.

Due to COVID this year, many of the parades are not happening, at least not in the USA. But there are some areas that are doing something for St. Patty’s day. In Warminster, a pub is doing a “St. Patty’s Day” celebration. Over in Jacksonville, another pub is having a happy hour as well. So even if you can’t see the parades or do group gatherings, there are lots of other chives to participate in that are safe. Even safer idea to cook a traditional Irish meal whether you're Irish or not. One idea is to eat some Irish potatoes.
