While the Halloween season is known for mystical scary tales of monsters and ghouls, the most terrifying creatures may in fact be humans.
Crime is the number one unfortunate thing going on in this world. People get shot, stabbed, sexually assaulted, abused, and kidnapped innocently or purposely. People can also burn down others’ property, which is known as arson. Due to these things, people can be traumatized or neither be awake for the next day nor sleep for tonight’s moon. These crimes still go on and most of the time, every breath we take another person is losing theirs. When we close those doors we never hear the unexpected. Every time we touch some people cry from the fear they once had. Going through these times are the worst because we either take the flight or fight risk.
These stories are true crimes:
Accidental or homicide? The case of Brittany Murphy. Brittany Murphy was known as one of the It girls when it came to her roles as Tai in the movie Clueless, and Elisabeth Burrows in the movie Don’t Say a Word. She unfortunately died December 20, 2009 at the age of 32. While her death was ruled to be an accidental overdose, her father believed it was a murder. Brittany’s family had been suspicious of her spouse Simon Monjack. Simon was known as a fabricator, which made Brittany’s family more cautious and concerned about her and scared of Brittany’s life. Simon made false accusations of dating model Madonna and Australian Model, Ella Macpherson. He had also fabricated about dying due to terminal cancer and had to buy a treatment that was obtained by the fins of sharks. Her death was caused accidentally due to anemia, pneumonia, and multiple drug intoxication. Not too long after Brittany’s death, Simon died on May 23, 2010. To this day her family still believed that her death was a murder rather than an accident.
A teacher went from posting a gender reveal to being locked up. A former teacher who posted a gender reveal for her baby, had been charged with having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old. She had also been sending the minor nudes and the words “I love you.” When she got out on bond you can notice her baby bump as she passes by the press. The woman had claimed that the baby was her husband’s and denied all allegations with the minor. Unfortunately it seems that this teacher wasn’t the only one who got pregnant by a minor, as 31-year-old Brittiny Lopez-Murray was also accused of having sexual intercourse right after she picked up the student from basketball practice. She was told by the judge that she has to restrain from ever seeing the boy again. Brittiny is also pregnant and is also denied all allegations against the minor.
A mom hosted a party that included alcohol and underage sex. Shannon O’Connor was accused of a crime that got parents' heads spinning through the roof. It's normal to have kids to go to parties to hang out with friends, or have the times of their lives. Shannon not only let her 15-year-old son throw a party, but she hosted the party that contributed to underage drinking and encouraging under-age sex for the teens who attended and watched. A woman named Sherry Mullen stood by an airport with the words Lock her up. Sherry Mullen felt outraged and betrayed by someone she trusted, and she let her daughter go to at least two parties with. She felt disgusted that she trusted someone, who had hosted something so vile.
Can a truck in the Ohio River help be a clue to a cold case from 2002? 26-year-old Stephanie Van Nguyen and her two children, 4-year-old Christina and 3-year-old John, went missing in 2002. The officials claim that Stephanie was distraught about her marriage ending and wrote a suicide letter explaining that she wanted to die with her kids. Unfortunately they couldn’t find any supporting evidence about her going through with the plan. With a new technology known as the Sonar, it made an impact on the case, and then eventually they located a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. The anthropologist examined the vehicle and found a bone fragment that was conjectured as a human origin and will be tested.
Crime can be traumatizing, it can be from the ones we never expected. Some of them won’t seek the day while most just feel nothing but pain. The only thing we can do in our life is fight or flight.
