Mrs. Fulton is Palisades High School’s devoted school nurse. Students at Palisades are certainly fortunate to have such a school nurse, who constantly goes above and beyond to ensure us students are healthy and cared for. The Pirates’ Pearl would like to commemorate Mrs. Fulton for her dedication to the high school, as well as her uplifting personality that always puts a smile on everyone’s faces. Mrs. Fulton’s positive attitude and the fact she never fails to greet you when she sees you in the hallway makes all students feel like they are cared about, even when they are not sick.
After an interview with Mrs. Fulton, we learned that she has been working at Palisades High School for 25 years now. However, before this Mrs. Fulton worked as a nurse at a hospital for 22 years, where she cared for people who were acutely ill. In addition to working at a hospital, she often filled in for the nursing position in the Brandywine School District prior to her hard work at Palisades. Although Palisades High School is not the only school where Mrs. Fulton has nursed, she shared that Palisades is definitely her favorite school she has worked in. To receive her nursing degree, Mrs. Fulton took classes at Bucks County Community College, Gwynedd Mercy University, and Arcadia College. Mrs. Fulton decided to become a school nurse after she worked at the hospital where she developed an interest for preventative care. Mrs. Fulton is one who is truly passionate about her job and claims that it is the perfect fit for her. The reason Mrs. Fulton admires working at PHS so much is because she feels as if she works with a great group of people in a beautiful school district where she is part of a family. Not to mention, Mrs. Fulton says that as the school nurse, there is never a dull moment and working with young people like us students makes her feel young again.
Mrs. Fulton has been recognized by The Pirates’ Pearl as this month’s Unsung Hero due to her tremendous efforts to not only take care of students, but also show support and encouragement throughout Palisades High School. Thank you Mrs. Fulton for your constant care and optimism that never fails to cheer up those around you.
