Up and Coming Musicians You NEED for Your Summer Playlist

Madison McGovern, Junior

As the weather gets sunnier and exams come to a close, the anticipation for summer seems never-ending! It is approaching the time to start planning for vacations and day trips, which means it is time to design new, upbeat playlists you can take with you anywhere you are off to this summer.

New music and artists have been popping up all throughout 2019, and there have been some noticeable trends. For one, smoother, R&B-like pop music has been a new trend. This is anticipated to be due to artists like Khalid and Post Malone, who are especially popular among teens and young adults. Country music has seen a new light of incorporating more pop-like rhythm and beats as well as a rise in female artists, like Kacey Musgraves who has had an incredibly successful year thus far.
