Christmas Breakfast Recipes

Start your Christmas morning with a jolly start by making these recipes!


Creme Brulee French Toast

This classic recipe is made every Christmas in my house. It is similar to normal french toast with a caramel like bottom.

TIME: 8 hours and 55 minutes,

serves 8-10

Ingredients:

1 stick of unsalted butter

1 cup of Brown Sugar

2 tablespoons of cornstarch

1 (8 to 9) inch round loaf Challah bread

5 large eggs

1 ½ cups of half & half

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1 teaspoon of grand marnier

¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Cut the crust off the Challah bread

Cut the Challah bread into 1 inch strips and them aside

In a saucepan melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup until smooth

Pour sauce into the baking dish

Put the bread in the pan making sure it fits

Whisk eggs, half & half, grand marnier, salt, and vanilla together in a bowl

Pour the egg mixture over the bread and let sit for 8 hrs to a day

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Bake uncovered until the edges are golden and the bread is puffed


Hashbrown, Egg, and Cheese Bake

Yet another classic, this egg bake should be a staple for everyone's Christmas morning. It has a spongy egg texture, along with a crispy hash brown bottom.

TIME: 1 hour, serves 12

Ingredients:

Frozen Hash browns

1 ½ cups of ham

2 cups of mild cheddar cheese

Dozen eggs

½ cup of half & half

½ teaspoon of salt

½ teaspoon of pepper

½ cup of green onions

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Spray 9” by 15” pan with PAM

Put the frozen hash browns in the pan

Cut up onions and ham

Mix the onions and ham with eggs, ¾’s of the cheese, salt and pepper.

Pour the mixture in with the hash browns

Cover the rest with the remaining cheese

Bake for 45 min


Fruit Salad

This fruit salad is simple and sweet. It offers several fruits and a tangy twist with the orange juice “dressing.”

TIME: 15 minutes, serves 10

Ingredients

2 apples

2 pears

2 oranges

1 banana

1 cup of halved grapes

2 tablespoons of orange juice

1 cup of strawberries

Directions

Slice apples and pears into bite sized pieces

Peel and section the orange

Cut the peeled orange into bite sized pieces

Cut up banana

Slice strawberries into quarters and grapes into halves

Put all the fruit in a bowl

Pour the orange juice on top
