The Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl since 1970 on Sunday night. A chilly, breezy night in Miami, Florida ended with fireworks as the Chiefs concluded the game in a double-digit win against the San Francisco 49ers. In their past two games leading up to the Superbowl, they trailed by double digits. The same thing happened on Sunday night. Then, why have the Chiefs won all these games? It is simple: Patrick Mahomes.

Just like the last two playoff games, Mahomes and the high-powered offense took charge, and in the blink of an eye, the Chiefs stormed back and took control of the game. The Chiefs used an epic fourth-quarter comeback to win their first Super Bowl title in 50 years. The Chiefs went down by double digits with just over 2 minutes left in the third quarter, and by midway through the fourth, they had yet to cut into the large deficit. But with 8:33 left on the clock, Mahomes went to work. He found wide receiver Tyreek Hill multiple times throughout the night. A 44-yard pass to Hill set the Chiefs in scoring position. The 49ers left tight-end Travis Kelce wide open for the touchdown. The Chiefs were only down by 3 points now.
Despite trailing for more than 21 minutes of game time, the Chiefs finally reclaimed the lead when Mahomes found Damien Williams in the flat for a touchdown. Let’s not give all the credit to the offense though. "That defense played their tails off," Kelce said. "And we needed stops, they won us the game." The 49ers only gained 59 yards in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs were criticized leading up to this game for their inability to slow down opponents, and they proved the country wrong in the last half of the game.
"We have heart. From day one, Coach pushes us to be the best people we can be, and we never give up," Mahomes said after the game. "I think those guys around this -- the leaders that we have on this team -- they have that mindset that we never give up and we're going to fight until the end."

While the world was amazed by the Chiefs, they were also amazed by the Pepsi HalfTime show. It received more coverage than the game itself. Many were outraged by the outfits worn by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. It led to dance parties in many households. For 15 electric minutes, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed a nonstop celebration of life and lust and Latin pop and Colombian culture. From Jennifer Lopez bringing out her daughter to Bad Bunny and J Balvin rapping, it was hard to pick a favorite part.
