Halloween is quickly approaching which means candy, decorations, and most importantly costumes! While kids grow out of trick or treating around the neighborhood, there is no age limit to dressing up. People of all ages enjoy putting on their favorite costumes with their friends and families to attend parties, parades, spirit weeks, etc. While everyone tries their best to be unique, evidently there are repeats. Each year there are a couple costumes that you see two or three times. This year in particular, popular TV shows and movies have influenced the costume trends of 2018.
“11” from Stranger Things
The Netflix Original Series Stranger Things main character “11” will definitely make an appearance this October 31st. This look can easily be accomplished with some knee high socks, white sneakers, and a light pink dress. If you want to go above and beyond, carry around a box of waffles, 11’s favorite snack.
A Riverdale Character
Another popular television show on The CW, Riverdale, just recently released their third season. This sparked an interest to recreate the characters 60s-like style. With a variety of characters to choose from ranging from a preppy sweater and skirt to the classic high school varsity football player jacket, these looks are so easy to remake.
Edna Mode from The Incredibles 2
Last but certainly not least, the anticipated sequel The Incredibles 2 had everyone and their mothers in the movie theater this summer. The fictional character Edna Mode, who played as a fashion designer for the superheros, seemed to become one of the favorites. It is predicted that she will be brought to life this Halloween with her classic oversized black glasses, black bowl cut, and sleek black attire.
