The playoffs for the NFL season are finally here with a lot of very good teams participating. It should be a very exciting postseason and very fun to watch. Keep reading to see my breakdowns for each time as well as my postseason predictions.
First, I will start with the NFC which is more common to people around our area due to the our hometown teams the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles being in this division. Speaking of the Eagles, they scraped by and made the playoffs which is personally really exciting because they are my favorite team. They pulled out a win on Sunday against the Bears at the last second, which I predicted would happen because they were on a three game winning streak against all tough teams. The next game for the Eagles comes this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints vs the Eagles will be an extremely tough matchup for the Eagles because the Saints offense is so powerful and the Eagles defense is not the best against the pass. Last time these teams played the Saints won by around 40 points! My pick for this game would undoubtedly be the Saints.
Next is the Seattle Seahawks vs the Dallas Cowboys. This one will be very fun to watch and although I do not like the Cowboys I think they will win this game due to the fact that they are on fire and their offense has been rolling recently. I also think they will win because the Seahawks rely heavily on the running game and the Cowboys have two young starts at linebacker to stop their runs. If the Cowboys were to beat the Seahawks they would then play the St. Louis Rams. Because of the fact that the Rams have such a well rounded team and have so many weapons on both sides of the ball, I don't see the Cowboys coming close to winning this game and I think the Rams will blow them out.
The last two teams left in the NFC would then be the Saints and the Rams. I really hope this happens because I would love to see these two teams battle it out. They are both extremely talented and balanced teams, but I would have to favor the Saints. I think that the Saints will be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl this year.
Let’s move to the AFC side of things. For the first game, the Los Angeles Chargers will play the Baltimore Ravens and I think that the Chargers are a more complete team while the Ravens only have a great defense. For offense, the only thing really going for them is their quarterback. Following that matchup will be the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. For this contest, I am going to take the Colts. This is my prediction because they have been red hot lately, going 9-1 in their last 10 games. I think that due to the way Andrew Luck is playing they will have no problem beating the Texans.
If the Colts were to win against the Texans, they would play the #1 seeded Kansas City Chiefs, and I think that there is almost no way the Colts will beat the Chiefs. I am going to have to take Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs on this one. If the Chargers beat the Ravens, the Chargers will play the famed New England Patriots. The Pats have a good team as always, but I think that the Chargers defense will completely shut down New England quarterback Tom Brady. Thus, I have the Chargers going to the AFC championship game against the Chiefs. The two teams already faced off earlier this season, with the Chargers coming out on top. I think that this time around the Chargers will lose to the Chiefs and I think that the Chiefs will go to the Super Bowl against the Saints.
For Super Bowl LIII, I will also be predicting the score. This will be the final game to decide it all and feature the two best teams up against each other head to head. I have the Chiefs beating the Saints in the Super Bowl 28-21, and am excited to see how the rest of the postseason plays out!
