Thank A Soldier Week

Angela Henry, Sophomore

Thank A Soldier Week is from December 15th to December 23rd. Throughout this week you could go up to the soldier or a veteran and thank them for what they do/did in the military.

Of course, people should thank soldiers anytime and not on a specific week but this week is just for soldiers and a way to show that their country cares about what they do for their country. I believe that serving is a brave and honorable thing that these people do. These men and women do not have to put their time and effort into trying to help and protect their country.

Some people are legacy in the military family, meaning their parents and/or grandparents could have been in the military and some of the people go into the military if they are legacy. People mostly go into the military because they are legacy, got recruited, or know people that either talked to them or are friends that told him about it.

Soldiers choose to help and protect the people that live in the United States because they love their country. Soldiers sign-up to protect their country no matter what. If they die, they know that they are dying with honor because it is so brave to join the military and fight for what you believe and live by.

This is a week where people thank a soldier or more for their hard work and dedication. They chose to join the military and fight for the citizens of America and I very much appreciate the hard work they do. Soldiers should be thanked every day for what they do, but this is a week where everyone comes and thanks a soldier.

Happy Thank a Soldier Week!
