Wild Card Weekend

By: James Mitsch, Freshman

This year's wild card weekend games were very great games with shocking results. There were four games all together, with two on Saturday and two on Sunday. The teams that won are going to play the first round bye teams, and those winners will play in the NFC or AFC Championship.

On Saturday, the AFC games were played, with the Houstons Texans vs. Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans vs. The New England Patriots. The Texans and Bills game was a great game that eventually led to overtime. The Texans were able to comeback from an almost 10 point difference and send it to overtime. It was an exciting game with a final score of 22-19 Texans. On that same day, the Titans and Patriots also played an exciting and shocking game. Almost everyone had the Patriots winning by a lot, but the Titans showed up ready to play. They shocked the Patriots by dominating almost the whole game. The game came to a shocking end with the Titans overcoming the odds and winning 21-13.

On Sunday, the NFC teams games that were played were the New Orleans Saints vs. The Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks vs. The Philadelphia Eagles. The Saints vs. Vikings game was an exciting and shocking one that also ended up in overtime. The Vikings dominated the game, but Drew Brees came back and sent it to overtime. There was a controversial call that was not overturned even though there was evidence to overturn it. The play ended up being the game-winning touchdown by the tight-end Kyle Rudolph. The Vikings won with a score of 26-20. The final game of the weekend was between the Seahawks and the Eagles. This game had many bad turns for the Eagles. The quarterback Carson Wentz got cheap-shot by Seattle's defensive end and ended up having a concussion. The Eagles had so many injuries going into the game and throughout the game but never quit and almost pulled the game off. However, Seattle ended up winning 17-9.

All of these games were great and memorable, and next weekend's games will be action packed and suspenseful.
