Recently, Republican Mike Hill, a member in the House of Representatives, had proposed Bill #235. He says,“Consider the rights of that unborn baby. My oath said that I would protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life being the first one.” According to Fox 8 News, if the bill is passed, when a woman decides to get an abortion, and the doctor detects a heartbeat in the unborn child, performing the abortion could put the doctor in jail. It would be considered as a third-degree felony and could result in getting 5 years in prison.
The bill declares, “no termination of pregnancy shall be performed on any woman if the physician determines that...the unborn human being has achieved viability or has a detectable fetal heartbeat”.
Planned Parenthood made a statement and claims that the bill is “the most dangerous...we have ever seen for reproductive health.”
