Senior Graduation

Liv Knecht, Sophomore

The 2021-22 school year is ending in just two weeks and our class of 22 will be graduating and starting their new life after high school. A small interview was done to see how our seniors feel about their last year here at PHS and even how some of the teaching staff feel about them leaving.

Our first interview was with Isaac Zurita. He stated that he is just looking forward to summer and spending time with his friends and family. He mentioned that one of his highlight memories from high school was just being around people that made the school interesting. Isaac attended prom this year and said that it was loud but very fun. As for the graduation part itself, Isaac said he wasn’t scared or nervous about it. Isaac is a fun and outgoing person and is ready to start the next chapter of his life at Bucks Community College in the fall.

Our second interview was with Saphir Wenzi. Saphir is looking forward to college and enjoying the summer. She was happy with making a lot of friends this year, especially during the musical. She enjoyed prom very much and loved having the experience and having fun with friends with food and dancing. Saphir is excited about graduation and doesn’t want any of her fellow seniors to be scared of it. Saphir is overly energetic and has an amazing personality; she is also ready to start her majoring in social work at Lehigh Carbon Community College.

We interviewed Mrs. Rood about her personal feelings on the seniors graduating. She expressed her sadness with them leaving but is happy for them too. One of her favorite memories with a senior was in a gym class when a girl had kicked a soccer ball into the fire alarm in the gym and the whole school was evacuated. Parting words from her; “Good luck next year guys, and come back and visit!”

Mrs. Hornberger expressed that she loves our senior class and will miss them but wants them to move on with their lives and have a happy life. She quoted; “Everyone's path is different, it's okay no matter how your path takes you. Sometimes we have paths that we want you to go on, but sometimes it doesn’t work out, but that's okay and trust your path.”

Our last interview was with Owen Lodwig. He is excited about college, having the dorm life experience, and is eager to study subjects that he is passionate about. He stated that in the summer getting his license was a highlight, pre-season soccer was fun and going on beach trips with his friends during the summer. He went to prom and loved every minute of it. He is very excited about graduation and can not wait for it to come. Owen is a fun-loving and witty person and will be delighted to attend Temple University.

Senior graduation is June 3rd at 5:30pm, weather permitting. The rain date for the ceremony will be June 4th at 11:00am. Congratulations to our senior class of 22. We wish you well and good luck at graduation and whatever life you choose to start after high school.
