Would you survive the Birdbox challenge?
Birdbox starring Sandra Bullock, John Malkovich, and Sarah Paulson is about “the wake of an unknown global terror, a mother must find the strength to flee with her children down a treacherous river in search of safety. Due to unseen deadly forces, the perilous journey must be made blindly”.
Last week, Netflix released the new movie Birdbox and since its release, the internet has been hit with a crazy amount of memes. Everywhere on the internet, people are posting memes about this movie - from peers to celebrities. Now, people are actually trying to see if they can survive Birdbox throughout in their everyday life through the #birdboxchallenge. To participate in the challenge, one must go about the day BLINDFOLDED.
If you take the blindfold off, you die. In the wake of all the memes and challenges, Netflix has released a statement saying, “Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRDBOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes”.
