Country Singer Granger Smith’s Son Passes Away

According to CNN, River Kelly Smith, three-year old son of famous country singer Granger Smith, passed away. There was an incident in a river where the three year old unfortunately drowned and despite the doctor’s best efforts and there undivided support and attention, unfortunately the three-year old could not be revived. The parents also have two other children which they share this grief with. Granger Smith posted on Instagram saying, “We have to deliver unthinkable news. We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith. Following a tragic accident, and despite the doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived.” Granger Smith’s wife, Amber Smith, also posted a similar text on Instagram with some small differences. The two parents both said that they would donate the organs of the young child, “so that other children will be given a second chance at life.” They said their goodbyes already. They also wanted to send out two messages. The first message being to hold your loved ones close as you can never expect this to happen. Amber Smith also posted that, “nothing can prepare a mother to deliver this type of news.” It is a tragic accident and many people have flocked to social media to give their condolences to the family after such a mournful incident. Granger and Amber Smith both asked that in lieu of flowers and gifts, that someone would instead donate to the Dell’s Children’s Medical Center in River’s Name. He said that the doctors and staff there were very polite and hospitable and it is in their best interest to help others out.
