The “Work” singer is reportedly suing her father or trying to obtain multi-million dollar deals using her last name without her knowledge.
On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, multiple news publications such as Buzzfeed, TMZ, and The Shaderoom reported that singer Rihanna is suing her father for allegedly using the last name “Fenty” as a way to obtain multi-million dollar deals without her knowledge. According to Buzzfeed, “their company, Fenty Entertainment, is affiliated with her and have "used these lies in a fraudulent effort to solicit millions of dollars from unsuspecting third parties." Although it was reported that the father and his business partner started “Fenty Entertainment” in 2017, Rihanna has had the name “Fenty” as a landmark name since 2012. Ever since she has made a name for herself not only with her music but also with her Fenty Beauty line. Rihanna filed a federal lawsuit on yesterday against her father and his business partner for “fraudulent misrepresented”. Buzzfeed states that “Rihanna is asking a judge to issue an immediate injunction to stop her father and Perkins from engaging in the alleged deals.”
