Fun Thanksgiving Desserts

Sick and tired of the same old holiday desserts? Well, you’re in luck, because I have five exciting and fun Thanksgiving desserts that will really wow your family!


Rice Krispie Turkey Drumsticks

These Rice Krispie Turkey Drumsticks are a perfect treat if you want to impress your guests. They look great and taste even better.


Ingredients:

6 pretzel rods

White melting chocolate

Mini marshmallows

2 Tbsp. butter

6 C. Cocoa Krispies or Cocoa Pebbles cereal

How to make:

Take your pretzel rods and break them in half. Remove any of the salt on them.

Melt the white chocolate. Take two mini marshmallows and press them onto one end of your pretzel rods making sure they stick. Then dip the pretzel rod with the marshmallows on it into your melted white chocolate. Place them on wax paper and let them harden.

Melt the butter and the remaining marshmallows in a large saucepan. Add in the rice krispies and put the heat on low. Then, using your hands take some of the rice krispie-marshmallow mix and form a drumstick shape on your pretzel rod. Place on wax paper to cool.


Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brownies:

This tasty pumpkin and chocolate combination will make you regret getting seconds at dinner time, because the way these brownies taste your guaranteed to want to eat them all!

Ingredients:📷

Brownies 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick) 6 ounces dark or bittersweet chocolate, chopped (I used Trader Joe’s 72% Pound Plus Bar) 2 large eggs 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 tablespoon brewed coffee (leftover or cold coffee is okay), optional but recommended 1 teaspoon instant espresso granules, optional but recommended 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Pumpkin Layer 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

1 large egg yolk (discard white) 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 to 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to make:

Brownies

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8 inch pan with cooking spray and put it off to the side.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, add the butter and the chocolate and heat in the microwave on high for about two minutes, or until the chocolate is melted. Give the mixture time to cool before adding in the eggs.

Then add the sugar, vanilla, and optional coffee and whisk to combine.

Then add remaining ingredients and mix.

Pour your batter into the pan that you prepared earlier and put your batter off to the side.

Pumpkin Layer

Add all ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, into a bowl and mix.

Spread pumpkin layer over the brownie batter.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.


Baked Apples with Maple Pecans

If you are looking for a healthier dessert idea that still tastes amazing, these baked apples with maple pecans are the perfect treat.

Ingredients:

4 sweet apples, such as Gala


140 g pecan nuts

3 tbsp maple syrup

2 tbsp butter, melted

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/5 tsp fine sea salt

How to make:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper.

In a blender, blend the pecans until they are crumbly and then combine with the maple syrup, butter, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.

Core the apples and cut them in half. Top each half with the pecan mixture.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Let cook for 5 minutes and enjoy!


Acorn Cookies

If you don’t have time to make a crazy dessert but you still want to impress your family, these acorn cookies are the perfect choice for you.


Ingredients:

Vanilla wafer cookies


Hershey Kisses

Mini Chocolate Chips

Vanilla or chocolate icing

How to Make:

Take your icing and put a layer on the flat side of the vanilla wafer.

Then connect a hershey kiss to the vanilla wafer that has icing on it.

Take one of your mini chocolate chips and dip the flat side into the icing.

Connect the mini chocolate chip with the rounded side of your vanilla wafer and you have an acorn cookie!


Pumpkin-Nutella Swirl Cake

Two of the best flavors in the world combined into one cake, what could possibly go wrong?

Ingredients:


1 stick butter, at room temperature

1 cup light brown sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

3/4 cup pumpkin purée (not pie filling)

2 1/2 cups cake flour*

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1/8 tsp. ground cloves

Pinch ground nutmeg

1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella)

How to make:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and grease a 2 pound loaf tin.

Place butter and sugar into a large bowl and mix them together until light and fluffy.

Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Then add the pumpkin puree, flour, baking powder, and spices and mix until smooth.

Take 3/4 cup of the batter and put it into a medium sized bowl. Then take 1/2 a cup of nutella into the bowl and mix until well combined

Take 1/3 of the pumpkin batter and put it into your loaf pan. Then take 1/3 of the chocolate batter and put it into your loaf pan. Mix the two lightly together to create a swirl. Continue this process until you are out of batter.

Bake for 50 minutes.

Let sit for 1 hour and then enjoy!
