Justin Bieber has recently been diagnosed with Lyme disease and also had a recent and serious case of chronic mono.
Bieber said, “A lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like he’s on meth, they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease,” adding “not only that but a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”
He explains how people automatically jump to conclusions, and assume the worst, simply because he doesn’t look well.
According to Centers for Disease Control, around 30,000 cases of Lyme are reported annually, but they think the actual number of diagnosed cases could be around 300,000. Lyme disease is caused by an infection with bacteria called Borrelia Burgdorferi, which may be carried by some ticks. Lyme is not curable, but it can be successfully treated and managed with antibiotics in the majority of Lyme cases.
