The Giants have finalized their deal with Joe Judge, the previous New England Patriots wide receiver coach, to be the Giants’ head coach according to league sources. He was the youngest of the seven known candidates for the Giants’ coach position.
Joe Judge, 38, has been mentored by Alabama coach Nick Saban and Patriots coach Bill Belichick. “He is considered a no-nonsense guy who isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers with players if necessary,” according to ESPN. Judge is to be replacing Pat Shurmur, who was fired by the Giant’s on December 30 after two seasons.
This is Judge’s very first head-coaching job where he’ll have his work cut out for him since the Giants are an “NFL-worst” with a record of 12-36 since the starting of the 2017 season. The Giants also have a new and young starting quarterback, Danial Jones, who is very talented as Patriots coach was also keeping a watch on him.
With the Giants having a run of bad luck these last few seasons, things are looking upward for them next season as they begin a new season with new coaches and new starting players.
