The New Bachelor Reunites With The Old Bachelorette

Allie Wenskoski, Sophomore

The premiere of the new season of the Bachelor aired Monday night. The three hour long episode was a fan shocking event with something that had never happened before in Bachelor Nation history. The previous Bachelorette, Hannah Brown, appeared in the episode, stepping out of a limo just like all of the other girls vying for the new Bachelor’s heart this season. While at first many fans thought Hannah was there to join the season, the surprising moment ended with Hannah giving back a gift that Peter Weber, the new Bachelor, gave to her in her season. There were no tears or anything and Bachelor Nation believed that the hyped up moment was a disappointment.

However, later in the episode, just after some of the girls vying for Peter’s heart spoke out about being happy Hannah was gone, there was the first rose ceremony. After choosing Hannah Ann for the first impression rose, the show was off to the first date of the season. This date was filled with a fun obstacle challenge where Madison, a women from Alabama, won the first one-on-one date. She accompanied Peter to his parents renewing their vows for their wedding anniversary. But the second group date was where things got interesting.

Hannah Brown hosted the date, talking about an experience she shared with Peter on her Bachelorette season. She then asked each of the girls to recount an experience they had with a man, to prove their confidence. After running off stage in tears, Peter goes backstage to talk to her. They recount their shared experience and it was revealed that Peter isn’t completely over Hannah, and Hannah feels the same way about Peter. Finally, Peter ended the episode by asking a jaw-dropping question, asking her if she wanted to join the other girls and compete for his heart. Their reunion ended abruptly and the fans are forced to wait until next week to find out the answer.
