According to the Washington Post, two women in North Carolina sexually assaulted a 29 year old transgender woman in a bar bathroom. It happened on December 9th, 2018 in downtown Raleigh, NC. There was a 911 call placed that two women were groping and exposing themselves to a transgender victim in the bathroom., causing the victim to have a panic attack It was not clear whether the call was made by the victim or a witness.
Amber Harrell, 38, and Jessica Fowler, 31, were then arrested and charged with sexual battery, (an unwanted form of contact with an intimate part of the body that is made for purposes of sexual arousal, sexual gratification, or in this case, sexual abuse) and second-degree kidnapping. According to the caller, even though the bartender was aware and requested the women to stop, they continued to harass the victim. One of the women allegedly asked the victim if she had a penis. Harrell was arrested last weekend and Fowler turned herself in on Tuesday afternoon.
