Cynthia Landis is an entrepreneur in the downtown Quakertown area. She built All Things Bridal and All Things Prom from the ground up. She had some hardships in the process, but eventually, her business began to flourish. The community of Quakertown would not be the same without her or her business.

Before she was a bridal consultant and entrepreneur, Cindy was a wedding photographer. She said she loved the job, however, once everything became digital she lost her passion for the job. She then asked herself “What can I do in the future that has to do with brides?”

Cindy took the knowledge she already had with brides and their dresses from her photography job and decided to start a bridal store. “I opened a bride magazine and looked up a designer and called them asking about how to buy and sell dresses. They sent me to New York City for bridal fashion week and I bought the dresses on the spot straight from the designer,” Cindy said.

Her store, All Things Bridal, finally opened in 2005. When the store opened, it only had about six dressing rooms. While Cindy said she struggled with space for the brides, and time to take the brides, but she struggled most with finances. Keeping her business up and running was tough at the start because of the constant need for money, whether it came from selling the dresses or needing the money to buy more gowns.

Fast forward to the COVID-19 pandemic, All Things Bridal was forced to shut down for about three months. This was devastating to the business and impacted everyone there. Bridal gowns were coming in from designers, but the brides could not pick them up, meaning a loss of money for the company, and it was right in the middle of prom season, which put a pause on the selling of prom dresses in the All Things Prom section of the store.

When it comes to the community, All Things Bridal and Prom is very involved and hands-on. Cindy employs local high school students to work in the All Things Prom section of the store to give the prom girls a more fun and comfortable environment. The business also gives back to the community by giving out donations, participating in local fundraisers and all other community events, and being part of the Downtown Business Main Street Association.

Keeping the business up and running is no longer a hassle for Cindy. Her sale of prom and bridal gowns have skyrocketed and she is now known as a successful business owner in downtown Quakertown. In addition, there is amazing customer service provided and only the highest quality of dresses are sold there. “Make sure you have enough capital to comfortably start your business and buy your building, try not to lease,” Cindy says as a tip for all aspiring entrepreneurs.

All Things Bridal and All Things Prom was the start of a successful future for Cynthia Landis. She has gone on to accomplish many great things and has experienced wonderful opportunities in her life all thanks to this business.“I am very blessed that I have a wonderful store to work in and a great staff that supports me all the time. I truly could not do anything without my wonderful staff.”
