On December 19th, Palisades High School and Athletic Director Brian Gilbert announced the hiring of their new football coach, Ramie Moussa. He takes over the helm of the Pirate ship from Kevin Ronalds after nine seasons as an assistant at Whitehall High School, where Gilbert was previously the head coach for six seasons. Quoted in the Allentown Morning Call, Moussa says, “Coach Ronalds left the program in outstanding shape. There’s a lot of passion and energy in this program. A standard and level of expectations have been set here. I want to keep the success that he had here with these kids.”
Moussa headlines a largely new coaching staff at Palisades, with three main newcomers. Joining Moussa from Whitehall will be new defensive coordinator Dan Caffrey and defensive backs coach Eric Miller. They will be coupled with a new offensive coordinator in Garrett Bisbing from Allentown Central Catholic. Staying at Palisades from prior seasons will be linebacker coach Bobby Smith, Bobby Shoemaker who will coach the lines, and quarterback coach Tom Brader. It is sure to be a winter of transition for the Pirates under their new coaching staff, as they look towards a prosperous fall season that begins on August 23rd against Palmerton.
