Pep Rally 2019

The pep rally was the closing highlight of Palisades' 2019 spirit week. From games like Hungry-Hungry Hippo and musical chairs to the band and cheerleaders showing off their exceeding talent, the atmosphere in the gym was eccentric! 

Musical chairs was an intriguing game to watch due to the aggressiveness when the song stops and many students scrambling to find a chair to sit in. It all came down to sophomore Sammie Trickel vs. junior Aidan Guy. As they spun around the lone chair in the middle of the gym while the music blasted and everyone's eyes pitted on them, they waited for a moment of silence to try and plant themselves as fast as possible on the chair. The sophomore side of the gym erupted into loud screams as Sammie Trickel placed herself on the seat more swiftly than Aidan, who was left standing. Hand-made Ws flooded the sophomore side of the gym, who were boasting their win over the juniors. 

The band performed remarkably, the instrumental players didn't miss a beat! The gym went silent for their performance. As the trumpets played proudly, and trombones held their notes, the band was in total sync throughout their act. As they played, the color guard did amazing with manifesting their gift of dancing with various equipment being utilized. The sharp end of the song went along with the color guard act and members Hailey Coughlin and Jamie Hallman both caught an amazing toss in sync with their rifles that put the performance together.

The cheerleaders expressed major spirit while they did their dance routine. One of the most impressive stunts they did involved Paige Becker being flipped into the air to be caught by her bases. The mix of songs they used, including many top hits, engaged the audience to watch the cheerleaders perform. 

 As spirit week comes to a close, this year's pep rally is one for the books. The energy that was in the gym was incomparable to any pep rally in the past years. The pep rally was an exciting event to kick off the October month. As the annual pep rally continues, it only gets better; from the superb performances and the fun games, Palisades' pep rally is unmatched.
